Barcelona, with competition for their most desired defender

Barcelona is looking for a new center-back and has preselected Tiago Djalo from Lille, but they know they will face competition from all over Europe, according to a report.
There is particularly rivalry from England, where Newcastle United is keen on signing him.
Sven Botman has missed the last nine matches for the British club due to a knee injury and recently returned to the Netherlands for additional treatment.
Botman arrived from Lille for 37 million euros in July 2022, and the club will return to that source for reinforcements.
"Newcastle United is closely monitoring the development of Lille's center-back, Tiago Djalo, and is prepared to compete for his signing in 2024. Djalo is a player that Newcastle greatly admires and has been following for over a year," reports Graeme Bailey of 90min.
Catalan desire Djalo is capable of playing in the backline, so he could fill the gaps left by Botman or Burn, but Newcastle faces competition, not only from Inter Milan, as recently warned by Fabrizio Romano.
"Juventus, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Djalo..." the report continues.
Newcastle beat AC Milan to sign Botman last summer, and there is nothing to suggest that the world's richest club will not also win the race for Djalo.
